How a job runs

From your first call to the last bracket

Four steps, and one of them is us driving to you.

You call or send the form; we ask a few questions by phone so the right person brings the right fabrics; a designer comes to your rooms, measures every opening, designs the treatment with you and writes the quote before leaving; then we make it in our Akron workroom and our own crew installs it. The consultation is free and there is no obligation.

You call or send the form

Tell us the rooms and what the windows are failing to do. That is genuinely all we need to start.

We ask a few questions by phone

A real step, not a holding message. How many openings, roughly what you are after, and when — so the designer arrives with the right fabrics in the car rather than a general selection.

A designer comes to your rooms

Measures, designs and quotes, in the room, in its own light.

We make it and hang it

Cut and sewn here; installed by our own crew.

What happens at the consultation

About an hour for a few windows, and longer for a whole house.

We bring fabric to your rooms

The same weave looks like two different fabrics on a north window and a west one. Choosing it under showroom lighting is how people end up surprised.

We measure every opening

Top, middle and bottom on each one. An opening that measures square on a drawing rarely is, and the difference decides the mount.

We design it with you

Opacity, lift, header and hardware, window by window, with the trade-offs said out loud rather than left in the small print.

You get a written quote before we leave

Worked out at your table. Not emailed a week later, and not conditional on a follow-up visit.

It is free and there is no obligation. You decide in your own time.

What we will not do at the visit

Three things, because knowing what does not happen is most of what makes an in-home visit easy to agree to.

We do not arrive with a rate card and work down from it: the quote is built from your openings, at your table, after they have been measured. There is no discount that expires when the designer leaves — the number you are given will be the same number next week. And we do not need a decision on the day. You get the quote in writing and you think about it.

What we will do is tell you when the cheaper answer is the right one. Room-darkening instead of blackout on an ordinary bedroom, a cordless lift instead of a motor on a window you can reach, an open roll instead of a cornice in a room where the top gap does not matter. That is not a technique either — it is that we would rather fit the right thing once.

Then we make it

The fabrication happens in the workroom on Frank Blvd — cut, sewn, assembled and painted here — and the people who install it work for us. You get a real lead time at the quote, once we know what the goods are.

What it costs to have us come

Nothing. The visit is free, the quote is written before the designer leaves, and there is no obligation attached to either. You are not signing anything on the day unless you decide to.

Every window is measured before it is quoted, which is why there are no prices on this site — the number depends on the opening, the fabric, the lift and what the wall is made of, and those are things somebody has to stand in the room to know.

Commercial projects run differently

A site survey rather than an in-home visit, an opening-by-opening unit matrix and a submittal package rather than a quote at the table, and an install phased around a building that stays open. See how commercial work runs.

Before we come

A few photos help

Phone photos of the windows let the designer arrive prepared — with the right fabrics, and having already thought about the mount. Tick the box on the form and we will ask for them when we call.

Have everyone who is deciding there

Genuinely the difference between one visit and three. Not a sales tactic — the design gets decided in the room, and a decision made without one of you tends to get made again.

Questions people ask

How long does the in-home consultation take?

About an hour for a few windows, and longer for a whole house. The designer measures every opening, brings fabric so you can see it in your own light rather than under showroom lighting, lays the treatment out with you, and writes the quote before leaving.

Is there any charge or obligation?

No charge and no obligation. You get a written quote at the end of the visit and you decide in your own time.

Do you have a showroom I can visit?

The consultation is designed to come to you, which is genuinely better for this product — fabric looks different in your own light and against your own walls than it does anywhere else. If you would rather talk before booking a visit, call us on (330) 864-4190, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
