Where we come to measure

We measure and install across Northeast Ohio from one workroom at 50 Frank Blvd in Akron: the Cleveland area and its eastern and western suburbs, the Akron and Fairlawn ring, Canton and the Stark County towns, and out to Medina, Lorain, Wayne, Portage, Mahoning, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Erie counties. There is one premises and a designer who drives to you — no satellite offices and no franchise territories.

Everything starts on Frank Blvd. The fabric is cut there, the drapery is sewn there, the cornices are built there, and the designer who comes to your house leaves from there. That is worth saying plainly because it is the opposite of how most of this category is organised in Northeast Ohio, where the name on the van belongs to a franchise and the goods come from a catalogue.

One workroom, and what that rules out

There is a structural difference between this and most of what is available in Northeast Ohio, and it is worth being plain about because it decides who you are actually dealing with.

A franchise sells a territory. The company whose name is on the van in your driveway may be a local owner with a licence, a catalogue and a subcontracted installer — which works, but it means the goods, the measure and the install are three different parties, and when something needs to be right there are three of them to ring.

We are one building. The measure, the fabrication and the install are the same company, and the person who comes back to adjust a bracket works for the people who cut the fabric. That is the whole reason there is one workroom and a designer who drives, rather than offices dotted around the region.

What the drive actually means for you

Two things, and neither of them is a travel charge.

The first is scheduling. A designer covering a forty-mile radius from one building plans a day around a route, so the further out you are the more the appointment time is a conversation rather than a menu. Tell us what suits you and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

The second is the thing nobody asks about until they need it: coming back. A bracket that needs moving half an inch, a fabric that has relaxed, a motor that wants pairing again — these are small and they happen. Being one company with one workroom means somebody comes back and it is the same company that made the goods. That is easier from two miles away than from forty, and we would rather say so than pretend distance is meaningless.
